Bees are one of the most important insects on the planet. The work they do is incredible, pollenating all the flowers and plants and crops.

In mythology bees were believed to be the sacred insect that bridged the natural world to the underworld.

They have been documented since the 7th century on jewellery, painting and pottery.

Minoan-Mycenaean Mistress is referred to as “The Pure Mother Bee”. Even their tombs were shaped as bee hives.

Today the queen bee is an emblem of feminine power, beauty and spiritual wisdom, spiritual energy, rebirth and rejuvenation. She is known for prosperity, creativity, fertility, productivity, and efficiency.

All through history hexagons are found in many spiritual symbols such as Kabbalah the Star of David, the Tree of Life. Ancient tribes use Runes that comprise of hexagons interlocking to make triangles, representing positive and negative energy.

Looking at nature you will find the hexagon is one of the principal governing patterns that dominate the natural world.

The cells appear in nature as they’re the most efficient way to fill a space with the least amount of material. They can be repeated across a surface without leaving gaps or overlapping.

Under the microscope you can see hexagons make up the structure of our DNA. They also make up all sort of organic cells from corn on the cob, Swiss cheese plants and even snowflakes.

Hexagons are naturally formed in our universe and very visible from the Giants Causeway in Ireland to Saturn’s natural hexagons.

The bee and the hexagon are very powerful symbols in our world today, and in our past. I decided to put them together and create a new range of jewellery.

The bee is the focus of my range; my bees even have hexagon pattern wings. The range includes earrings with a hexagon back or a plain butterfly, pendants comprising plain bees, bees on honeycomb and my signature “back to front” necklace….Or just a simple chain with a bee on one end that you put through a hexagon on the other.

Saving the best to last, beautiful bee bracelets! All the jewellery is made from Sterling Silver. Some of the bees have been gold plated; the option is for you to choose.

Just use the buzzzz word and spread around the good work that bees do!
